Tags

The following is a guide to using tags in the Enginsight platform.

Tags enable you to group hosts, endpoints, and observations. Tags are a fundamental feature of Enginsight. Once you have added multiple hosts, endpoints, and observations to Enginsight, tags are essential to working effectively with Enginsight.

Therefore, start grouping your assets with tags in a useful way early on.

All endpoints are automatically given the tag endpoint by Enginsight. All newly created hosts get the tag host as well as server or client, also: windows or linux. All observations get the tag observation as well as snmp, ping or ports.

Using tags

You can use tags to...

• switch alerts to multiple assets at once.

• use searchbar to search your assets.

• use the Policy Manager to manage the settings of multiple hosts together.

• define blocking rules for the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).

• assign whitelist entries of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS).

• assign plugins to be executed regularly.

• manage machine learning metrics.

• Assign configuration lists.
