*** ## 1 – Global Sidebar The sidebar is located on the left-hand side of the user interface. It is shown throughout the entire Enginsight platform and contains all primary navigation icons. This allows you to quickly switch between the different main menus of the platform. ### Main Menu Navigation Hover your mouse pointer over a main menu icon to show the name of the corresponding menu. Click a main menu icon to show the corresponding main menu, including all submenu items. The following main menus can be accessed via the sidebar:

Icon	Main Manu

	Hosts
	Endpoints
	Observations
	Shield
	Penetration Testing
	Discoveries
	SIEM
	Alerts
	Settings

### Further Global Actions In addition to the main navigation, you can perform several other actions from the sidebar. #### Navigating to the Home Window Click the company logo

at the top of the sidebar to return to the Home window of the Enginsight platform. This corresponds to the [Dashboard overview](/docs/manual/english/platform-usage/dashboard/overview.md). #### Adding an Object Click the **Add** icon

at the bottom of the sidebar to show a submenu that allows you to navigate directly to specific views within the Enginsight platform.

The following options are available:

Option	Description
Endpoint	Add a new endpoint. Click Endpoint to navigate to the Add Endpoint view.
Host	Add a new Pulsar to a host. Click Host to navigate to the Pulsar installation view.
Alert	Add a new alert. Click Alert to navigate to the Add Alert view.
Plugin	Add a new plugin Click Plugin to navigate to the Add Plugin view.
New User (Organisation)	Add a new user to the organization. Click New User to navigate to the Team Members overview.
New Access Key (Organisation)	Add a new access key for the organization. Click New Access Key to navigate to the Access Key overview.

#### Collapsing / Expanding the Main Menu Click the **Collapse** icon

at the bottom of the sidebar to collapse the main menu and show only the sidebar. Click the **Expand** icon

to show the main menu again. *** ## 2 – Main Menu The main menu is shown to the right of the sidebar. Its content changes depending on the main menu icon selected in the sidebar. You can [collapse or expand](#hauptmenu-ein-ausklappen) the main menu using the corresponding options in the sidebar. *** ## 3 – Global Topbar The top bar is located at the top of the user interface. It is shown throughout the Enginsight platform and includes the global free-text search, along with various other options. It also shows the name of the organization you are currently logged in to.

### Global Free-Text Search Click the **Click here to search globally** field on the left side of the top bar and enter any search term to find specific menu items or resources within the Enginsight platform. A search preview opens that shows matching menu items and additional search results, with matching search terms highlighted.

Click a result in the search preview to navigate to the corresponding view. Click **Close** in the upper-right corner of the search preview to leave the view. ### Adding an Object Click the **Add** icon

to show a submenu that allows you to navigate directly to specific views within the Enginsight platform.

The following options are available:

Option	Description
Endpoint	Add a new endpoint. Click Endpoint to navigate to the Add Endpoint view.
Host	Add a new Pulsar to a host. Click Host to navigate to the Pulsar installation view.
Alert	Add a new alert. Click Alert to navigate to the Add Alert view.
Plugin	Add a new plugin. Click Plugin to navigate to the Add Plugin view.
New User (Organisation)	Add a new user to the organization. Click New User to navigate to the Team Members overview.
New Access Key (Organisation)	Add a new access key for the organization. Click New Access Key to navigate to the Access Keys overview.

### Update Notifications This option is not available in all views. If an update is available for an installed Enginsight component, a red exclamation mark is shown next to the globe icon in the topbar. Click the **Update Notification** icon

to show a submenu that allows you to navigate directly to the affected components.

The following options are available:

Option	Description
Observer	This option is only available if at least one Observer is running an outdated version. Click Observer to navigate to the Observer overview.
Watchdog	This option is only available if at least one Watchdog is running an outdated version. Click Watchdog to navigate to the Watchdog overview.
Hacktor	This option is only available if at least one Hacktor is running an outdated version. Click Hacktor to navigate to the Hacktor overview.

Observer

This option is only available if at least one Observer is running an outdated version.

Click Observer to navigate to the Observer overview.

Watchdog

This option is only available if at least one Watchdog is running an outdated version.

Click Watchdog to navigate to the Watchdog overview.

Hacktor

This option is only available if at least one Hacktor is running an outdated version.

Click Hacktor to navigate to the Hacktor overview.

### Support Click the **Support** icon

to open a new window that shows information about the support contact configured for your organization. {% hint style="info" %} If you have not yet configured support information in the [support settings](/docs/manual/english/administration/settings/support.md), this view will be empty. {% endhint %}

The following information is shown:

Option	Description
Name	Shows the name of the organization that is responsible for support.
Email	Shows the email address under which the support can be reached.
Website	Shows the website of the organization that is responsible for support or under which the support can be contacted, for example via a contact form.
Phone Number	Shows the phone number with which the support can be reached.

Click **Send Feedback** to open your default email program and send an email to the support address specified in the support contact details. ### Switching Organizations Click the **Switch Organization** icon ![](https://content.gitbook.com/content/V7OrHgKXA0t1jankQBYf/blobs/MHFDpHuCkg9qb7FTTvhx/Enginsight-Allgemeines%20Layout-Globale%20Topbar-Icon-Organisation.jpg) to open a new window that shows a list of your main organization and all suborganizations within your Enginsight instance.

The following information is shown for each organization:

Information	Description
Name	Shows the name of the organization.
Organisation Location	Shows the full address of the organization.
Organisation ID	Shows the unique identification number of the organization.

Click the **Close** icon or the **Close** button to close the window. Click **Add New Organisation** to navigate to the [Create Organisation](/docs/manual/english/administration/settings/organisation.md#organisation-erstellen) view. {% hint style="danger" %} **Please note:** New organizations can only be created by a main organization. A suborganization cannot create additional suborganizations. {% endhint %} Click the **Change Organization** icon next to an organization to switch to that organization. A new window will open.

Confirm the switch by clicking **Switch**, or leave the view by clicking **Abort**. ### User Account and Legal Information Click your **user avatar** ![](https://content.gitbook.com/content/V7OrHgKXA0t1jankQBYf/blobs/5xhPZybMD4yKfTWfIqq5/Enginsight-Allgemeines%20Layout-Globale%20Topbar-Icon-Benutzerkonto.jpg) to show a submenu that allows you to navigate directly to your user account settings or various legal information pages.

The following options are available:

Option	Description
User Account	Click User Account to navigate to the user account settings.
Logout	Click Logout to log out of the Enginsight platform.
Imprint	Click Imprint to open the Imprint of the Enginsight GmbH in a new browser tab.
Privacy Statement	Click Privacy Statement to open the privacy statement of the Enginsight GmbH in a new browser tab.
Order Data Processing	Click Order Data Processing to open the order data processing of Enginsight GmbH in a new browser tab.
General Terms and Conditions	Click General Terms and Conditions to open the General terms and conditions of the Enginsight GmbH in a new browser tab.

*** ## 4 – Main View: Header Bar The header bar of a view differs depending on the view you are currently in.

### Breadcrumbs On the left side of the header bar, you will find the breadcrumb navigation, which shows the hierarchical navigation path, for example **Hosts / Compliance / Automatic System Hardening / Checklists**. The last breadcrumb in the path indicates the name of the view you are currently in. Click a breadcrumb to navigate to the corresponding parent view. ### Primary Actions On the right side of the header bar, you will find various primary actions that are specific to the view you are currently in. *** ## 5 – Main View: Content The content area of a view differs depending on the menu item you have opened. In general, this area contains dashboards, overview lists, and forms that allow you to create new objects and edit existing ones. ***
