# Endpoints

An endpoint in Enginsight is an internal or external website or domain that is monitored from different locations, such as internal or external networks or different geographical regions, using the Enginsight component Observer.

***

## Requirements

* To monitor an endpoint, you must [install at least one Observer](/docs/manual/english/installation-and-configuration/installation-and-configuration/enginsight-components/observer.md). You can also install multiple Observers to monitor the endpoint from different locations or geographic regions.
* During installation, make sure that you meet the [system requirements for the component server](/docs/manual/english/installation-and-configuration/system-requirements/komponentenserver-hacktor-watchdog-observer.md) and the [Observer component](/docs/manual/english/installation-and-configuration/system-requirements/komponentenserver-hacktor-watchdog-observer.md#additional-requirements-observer).
* Also make sure that the server on which you install the Observer can communicate with the selected target systems. If necessary, check your [firewall settings](/docs/manual/english/installation-and-configuration/system-requirements/komponentenserver-hacktor-watchdog-observer.md#firewall-rules-component-server).

**Using the SaaS version of Enginsight**

* In the SaaS version of Enginsight, two Observers are provided in the regions Frankfurt am Main and East Virginia (USA). When using the SaaS version, allow all A records for the domain *observers.enginsight.com*, if required.
* Optionally, you can allow the following IP addresses in your firewall:
  * 164.90.185.111
  * 164.90.231.250
  * 142.93.119.55
  * 142.93.119.52
  * 139.59.155.98
  * 138.68.93.235
  * 138.68.71.130
