# Inventory

The inventory provides an overview of all network devices found in the subnets monitored by a Watchdog.

To do this, the Watchdog scans the specified subnet for new IP addresses using ping requests, port scans, and, if enabled, network sniffing. It transmits its interim results at five-minute intervals.

***

:compass: Navigate to **Discoveries** → **Inventory** to display a list of all detected network devices. If no devices have been detected yet, this view is empty.

The [inventory overview](#inventory-overview) provides information including:

* the IP address of the network device and the subnet in which it was detected.
* whether a detected network device has already been manually validated.
* which Watchdog detected the network device.

You can also [export](#export-lists) the entire inventory or a filtered view and [create an inventory report](#create-report).
