# Microsegmentation

Microsegmentation divides a network into smaller, isolated segments to prevent an attack or malware infection from spreading across the entire IT infrastructure. On the Enginsight platform, microsegmentation is host based.

Under **Shield** → **Microsegmentation**, you can find various options for implementing host-based microsegmentation in your network.

The following submenu items are available:
