# Custom MIBs

Enginsight provides a wide range of Management Information Base (MIB) files by default for monitoring via the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). You can also upload vendor-specific or custom MIB files to the Enginsight Platform.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Please note**: The file must be in **.mib**, **.my**, or **.txt** format and must not exceed **10 MB**. The API must be configured accordingly for larger files.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Please note**: To use a newly uploaded MIB file, you must [restart the associated Watchdog](#restart-watchdog).
{% endhint %}
